CRUISIN' ON THE FUN SHIP

Dustin and Ava spent most the time on the boat going down the water slides.

We had some much fun in Cozumel snorkeling at Palancar beach and the kids played in the waves and made sand castles. The water was so blue it looked like it was dyed and you could see the bottom of the ocean even while ported on the boat. There was tons of shopping and partying to be done at port esp. with $1 beers.

Our first port was in Progresso, Yukatan where we took a shuttle down the 4 mile pier to the beach which was mostly sand and shells. The water was not blue or clear like Cozumel but the kids still had fun playing in the waves. Getting in the water was the only way to get away from the pesky salesman.

Getting some R&R by the pool!

DUSTY TURNS 5!

We traveled to Lubbock, Tx to meet Big D and Big Mommy with Grandmother for Dustys bday at the 50th street Caboose. I didnt realize the batman cake would dye everyones mouths blue but it was quiet a site to see Grandmother with a blue mouth. Dustin had hoped to have a party with all his friends from school but we will have to put that off until next year when we have a HOUSE!

FRECKLED-FACE MELY

Melody has really grown out of her baby phase and into toddlerhood. She is very independent and rarely wants help with every day tasks. She has established quite a personality and loves to be silly and crack jokes. Pink is by far her favorite color and she loves to dress up and try to put on my makeup. If she gets hold of my purse she will end up with 5 different colors of lipstick on her face! Got a love our freckled face Mely

LET THE BUILDING BEGIN! (finally)

LET THERE BE LIGHT

mom and dad came out for the weekend and helped hang our kitchen cabinets and start laying tile. Its actually starting to look like a house now but we have a lot of little projects left until move in!

Progress has slowed down a bit with J.D. working around my work schedule to insulate and finish the plumbing. The electrican wired the house and our heating & a/c unit are now installed. Now we will be hoping for a quick transition to drywall. I am real excited about the cabinets we purchased and cant wait to see the end result!

My parents came out for Thanksgiving and Dad and J.D. put the metal roof on in 30mph winds. We had a huge feast but little downtime. Me and Mom caulked the front porch in prep for painting the outside when the weather improves.

I cant believe how fast our house was framed up. At this rate we should be in by Christmas!

Finally after months of trying so hard to be patient to start the building of our new home the construction crews showed up and got to work. We are in a race to beat the frigid winters of West Texas.

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL

I am really in shock that Dusty is starting Pre-k, I just cant grasp the idea of him going to school everyday. My baby is growing up and I cant keep him little forever. He is so polite and sweet to other kids so I know he will make some good friends. There was no question what kind of backpack he wanted, and after looking at several stores we finally found the one! Mely and I will have some one on one time now in the morning to play and learn which I am really looking forward to.
